How do we tackle today’s transportation challenges in a timely and cost-effective manner? I have had the opportunity to attempt to answer this question on many occasions during my career. Never does a county budget process go by that the question isn’t asked. The answer is not an easy one and has changed over the years.

Make Your Outreach Count
Can engineers around the world volunteer one million hours of their time to support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education? That's what Engineers Week wants to find out.
To quantify Engineers Week's global outreach to support STEM education, Engineers Week and NSPE have launched a "One Million Hours Initiative" and need your help.Engineers will be able to log the volunteer hours they've contributed to outreach activities.
Now through December 31, 2009, be sure to log in and track your hours.
